Born in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (true story), Frontier Sapiens exists to show that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things. Our mission is to share real-life, relateable stories that spark curiosity, connection, and courage — all under open skies.
Our Story
Frontier Sapiens began in the most unexpected place — the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2018, company founder Lauren, set out to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic with a friend. No prior rowing experience. No large corporate sponsors. Just a belief that ordinary people are capable of achieving extraordinary things. Somewhere between the waves and the miles, the idea for the film festival was born.

The goal was simple: create a space to share stories that inspire. Not just professional athletes or elite adventurers, but real people. People who step outside their comfort zones, take on challenges and change the way we see the world.

Since then, Frontier Sapiens has grown into the UK’s leading open-air adventure film festival, a small business that is run on a passion-led celebration of human endeavour, bold ideas and cinematic storytelling.

Frontier Sapiens is proudly run by myself - Lauren, and my husband Charlie, alongside a tight-knit crew of fellow adventurers, film-lovers and event wizards. We’re small by choice, because small means personal, flexible and fiercely committed to what we do.
We are naturally outdoorsy, animal loving and family orientated people who love bringing people together.
